Sports

sports

Walking, hiking, cycling, sailing, canoing, horseback riding, swimming ... all of these activities are available to you from your home away from home at La Prévenchère where bicycles are available for your use.

Brittany offers many walking and biking paths:

Le Canal Nantes à Brest

You will not believe your eyes as you wander by this canal that was built by Napoleon to allow his troops to pass. The surrounding woodlands dotted with fruit trees, the splashes of colorful wildflowers at your feet, and the golden and green fields are, almost literally, a piece of heaven.

Le Lac de Guerlédan

Just 20 minutes from La Prévenchère, Le Lac de Guerlédan has walking and cycling paths and you can also rent canoes and kayaks. The sand beaches on this beautiful lake are perfect for an afternoon dip.

La Rigole

“Rigoler” in French means to laugh and you can walk for miles by this once laughing creek and rejoice in nature. La Rigole is a short walk from La Prévenchère.

La Route des Falaises

A perfect area for cyclists and walkers, the “Route des Falaises” offers a feast for the eyes with its superb views of the sea from the Breton cliffs.

Maps and suggestions for the many hiking and bike trails surrounding La Prévenchère are available upon request.

Horseback Riding

If your passion is horseback riding, you have come to the right place! The Equestrian Center in Loudéac offers lessons at all levels and you can arrange to ride in the Loudéac forest as well. Lamballe, France’s equestrian training center for “La Garde Républicaine,” is just a short drive from St. Caradec.

Beaches and Water Sports

For beachcombers and swimming enthusiasts, the spot is ideal — from the Lac de Guerlédan to the beaches of St. Brieuc and all along the coast.

You can also set sail just as Breton fishermen have done for centuries from Paimpol or Lézardrieux (May to September). We particularly recommend a day aboard l’Eulalie, a replica of a 19th century sardine boat.
