paimpol

The drive to another port city, Paimpol, takes you up the coast through the towns of Binic, Plouha, and Plouézec where the recently restored Craca windmill with its view of the sea will delight you.

Craca

Once in Paimpol, enjoy your lunch at L’Hôtel de la Marne where Maître Cuisinier Stéphane Kokoszka will prepare a sumptuous meal for you. His specialty is of course seafood and fish.

Spend your afternoon wandering around Paimpol and in the nearby ruins of the Abbaye de Beauport. The remains of the abbey dating from the 12 th century now graced with flowers and flowering bushes will fascinate and perhaps inspire you. In the summer linger into the late evening and attend a concert or a presentation of Sound and Light in this unique and sacred spot.

La Route des Falaises

As you drive to Paimpol you will find La Route des Falaises, a perfect area along the cliffs of the sea for cyclists and walkers. The “Route des Falaises” offers stunning views of the magnificent Breton coast. You may wish to make a day’s hike or biking trip part of your visit to Paimpol and stay overnight at L’Hôtel de la Marne.

In the area you can also visit “Plage Bonaparte” where French resistants during World War II welcomed American, British and Canadian forces prior to the D-Day invasion and where many young soldiers lost their lives.
