dinan and jugon les lacs

Discover one of the treasures of Brittany in Dinan as you wander down the narrow streets lined with half-timbered houses. There are châteaux and museums galore in this exquisite town also known for its traditional "Gavotte" biscuits. For an afternoon snack or lunch, enjoy crêpes at La Crêperie du Puits at 18, rue de la Poissonerie.

We also recommend that you visit the tea shop just next door-- Les Terny Thé, which, when pronounced, is "eternity." At 12, rue de l'Horloge you will find the enchanting "Au Rouet" (spinning wheel) specialized in "ouvrages des dames," embroidered linens that make wonderful gifts.

Not to be missed is the floral boutique, "Etat d'Ame" at 13, place St. Sauveur. Spend time at the Basilique St. Sauveur where you will hear Gregorian chant before wandering over to the ramparts for a stunning view.

On your way to or from Dinan, you may also wish to stop in the lovely village of Jugon les Lacs (Petite Cité de Caractère) for a leisurely and typically French luncheon at L'Ecu, a restaurant in the town square.

The Cistercian Abbey of Boquen is also near Jugon les Lacs in Plenée Jugon. It is an active abbey and the sisters who live there are pleased to welcome you every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m except during prayer services.

Alternatively, proceed north to the coast and visit Cap Fréhel and Fort La Latte before returning to La Prévenchère.
