Christian Caille

From Paris originally, Christian Caille lived in Minnesota for more than thirty years. He first came to the United States to open the Sofitel Hotel in Bloomington, the first French-owned hotel in the United States. In the 1980s and 90s he owned La Grande Crêpe and Quail on the Hill in St. Paul, Café Nicollet in Minneapolis and the well-respected Quail Catering Company.  His dedication to passing on his knowledge to young people led him to teaching at the Cordon Bleu in Minneapolis.

Christian returned to France in 2002 to open La Prévenchère where he continues to share his love of French culture with his guests. "Hospitality," he says, "is one of the great joys in life.  It is always a pleasure to welcome guests to La Prévenchère and to make their stay memorable."

Guests can also arrange to take private culinary instruction from Christian who tailors the classes to individual requests. More information about the classes is in the Breadmaking and Gastronomie section of this website.
